The Escape

Description

A stealth game where you play a young child attempting to escape a Mexican underground drug factory. Players sneak around the base avoiding sentries and gathering items to help with the escape.

The game was a trimester project. Our goal was to create an believable environment with game play. We decided to create a stealth game with a crawl mechanic to help the player navigate and hide. This would also give the player a way to hide from the AI. MY role in the game was To script the game using visual scripting and to script the UI that appears when you are detected. The design goals are as stated below.

  • create a Dynamic UI that will show the distance and direction of the enemy. 

  • Make gyms with minor gameplay to help playtesters. 

  • create levels with proper framing so as to convey what the room was designed for as soon as you entered the door.

  • script a minor quest system which helps the player navigate the level and provides micro goals.
